The high life
Born and raised in Leadville, Colorado, Wesley Sandoval is a natural when it comes to endurance racing. With some of Colorado’s tallest mountains right in his backyard, Wesley grew up exploring his 10,000’+ hometown on foot and two wheels.

Raising the bar
As a competitive mountain biker and ultra runner, Wesley has stood atop podiums at some of the nation’s toughest races. His greatest feat to date came in 2016 when he took first in the Blueprint for Athletes Leadman competition. He spent the entire summer racing every Blueprint for Athletes Leadville Race Series event beginning with a marathon and ending in a 100-mile run (along with more running and some mountain biking in between). It was at that iconic run that he beat out Olympian Michael Aish and earned his title with an amazing 18:40 run (see video below) and an overall record-breaking Leadman time of 35:54:55.

King of the Hill
We’re excited to welcome Wesley to the 2017 Blueprint for Athletes Austin Rattler MTB & Run, where he’s returning to reclaim his King of the Hill title. Sign up for an Austin Rattler race for the chance to ride and run with Wesley.

Leadville local Wesley Sandoval overtakes Michael Aish to break Travis Macy’s #Leadman record and finish fourth overall in the #LT100RUN (18:40:01). The new record now stands at 35:54:55. Congratulations and way to represent Leadville, Wesley!
